Sexe symbole

(to deepen the meaning of the term)

creation 2013

created in Théâtre de Vanves in the frame of Artdanthé Festival

duration : 55'

The origin of the word sex (sexus, secare) is connected with the idea of division. This first binary categorization is the beginning of a hierarchical relationship from one thing over another. The symbol is an union. It functions as a bridge between an object and the representations. For us it seemed obvious to bring together the study of the sensations and expressions of our bodies. We have placed us both as an actor and observer of ourselves. Since we do not exist either as bodies or as individuals, we have attempted to approach together materiality, sensation and emotion. We make our bodies move just until that its the body that moves us.

Sexe symbole (to deepen the meaning of the term) likes to blur the lines between the body and the self, the sensation and the expression, the origin and the end.
